I'm running for Hawthorne City Treasurer to restore competence and integrity to the office. From 2013 to 2020, I served as City Treasurer and delivered on accountability, prudent investing, and transparency, growing the City's investment returns by over 1,200%. Since then, results have stalled, and the current treasurer's legal troubles have prevented her from seeking re-election. My prior tenure, combined with my current role as Chief Deputy Treasurer overseeing a $200 million portfolio, uniquely qualifies me to lead the office forward.
When I talk about accountability, I mean keeping you informed and involved in every decision we make. If elected, I will make it my priority to provide regular and easily accessible updates to both our City Council and to the public. You deserve a local government that is completely open and transparent, where information is shared freely and clearly. I want to ensure that every member of our community can easily find out what is happening and how decisions are being made. As your City Treasurer, my absolute top priority will always be keeping Hawthorne’s funds safe and secure. But true fiscal responsibility doesn't stop there. It also means ensuring our city has adequate liquidity—the cash on hand we need—to successfully fund our important local projects. At the same time, I am committed to securing a competitive return on our investments, allowing our reserve funds to grow safely. I want to continue the work I have already started to make sure Hawthorne is financially prepared for today and tomorrow. By balancing safety, accessibility, and smart growth, we can build a strong, stable foundation for our community's future.
